Election 2012 – A bit of deja vu

Four years ago I wrote about the 2008 election, and how it was seen as the most important election… EVER. Both sides thought that if the other candidate won, the world would come crashing down.

Four years later? Rinse, lather, repeat. It’s amazing how some things never change. And guess what – I’m not the least bit afraid of tomorrow’s turnout. Why not?

“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.” (Psalm 146:3)

“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” (Psalm 118:8-9)

“The Lord frustrates the counsel of the nations; he thwarts the plans of the peoples The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart from generation to generation. Happy is the nation whose God is Yahweh – the people he has chosen to be his own possession!” (Psalm 33:10-12)

“The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicket.” (Psalm 146:9)

Do you know why I’m not worried? Because I know how it’s going to end. Neither Obama nor Romney will be the one to save the world.

God’s plans will not be thwarted… by a democrat or a republican. I’ve already done my part and voted, and now I’m just going to sit back, watch the returns, and give praise to the only one who deserves it.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)
